The Lake Jackson Garden Club has formally been disbanded.  We will be hosting one final meeting of the Prince William Council of Garden Clubs in March.  The remainder of our funds will be donated to the Lake Jackson Citizen's Association for beautification of common areas around the lake.

There are several garden clubs in Prince William County if you are interested in joining a club.  Most, if not all, of the ones listed below are part of the "National Garden Clubs of America" program.  It's a great way to meet new friends, volunteer in our community and learn about gardening

Centennial Garden Club - Point of Contact Sylvia Egidi (703)361-4648

Countryside Garden Club - Point of Contact Betty Truax (703)794-8272

Manassas Garden Club - Point of Contact Debbie Dunn (703)368-0245 email debbiedunn@bigfoot.com

Garden Club of Montclair - Point of Contact Lin Stauffer (703)670-2376 or (703)598-1336 email stauffermgmt@comcast.net

Additionally, Prince William County has an active Master Gardener's Program.  The Prince William County Extension Office trains and coordinates master gardeners for our county.  Master Gardener volunteers work hand-in-hand with the Environment and Natural Resources staff at the Extension Office to educate and assist citizens with lawn and landscape problems. The Extension Office also has courses (many of which are free) for the home gardener to learn about good practices in their gardens and landscapes.  In particular, there is a program called "Great 'Scapes" which for a small fee, will evaluate your soil and make recommendations on lawn and landscape care.

Contact Betty Truax at (703)794-8272 if you have any questions.
