I.                     Beautification

A.                  Exploring PW County program for dump permits and litter cleanup materials to remove abandoned boats/cars/appliances other refuse

B.                  Junk-B-Gone

C.                  Rollbacks offered by member to remove cars

D.                  Geri Weis-Corbley volunteered to organize litter cleanup this spring

1.                   Last Saturday in April – will confirm date with PWC

II.                   Cobb Rd. Lawsuit progress

III.                  Road Committee Report – Hal & Cece

A.                  Property tax being considered for adjustment .175 from .172

1.                   McCoart Building Open Hearings April 5th 7:30 PM

B.                  Anomalous roads confusing to Fire and Rescue (ex. Lester not connecting)

1.                   Suggestion by owners to name the portion of the road “Happy Place”

2.                   Address of 1 house being reassigned to conform to new name

C.                  Next year’s Snow Plow contract – trying to get it written better

1.                   Contractor was finally fired by PWC

2.                   Trying to improve bidding process/ tighten up contract

3.                   Allow for recourse when necessary

D.                  Pam at PWC is working to negotiate down to what is truly owed for final payment to former contractor – final amount spent on snow removal TBD

E.                  Reminder that road concerns should be addressed at Road Committee meetings

F.                  Trees that were taken down on Manning were taken down following a Road Committee analysis to ease snow plow access

1.                   April 3rd  9AM-12

H.                  Locks will be changed on/before April 1st

IV.                Dog concerns – unsecured, unlicensed pit bull attacked on North Point

A.                  concern about irresponsible dog ownership

B.                  have invited representative from PWC animal control to review dog laws

V.                  Andrew Fox – concern about condemned structure to be demolished

A.                  Process is stalled in removing structure – none of the 9 zoning violations have been pursued by PWC

1.                   Lots of suspicious activity – multiple calls to police

2.                   Fire Dept. deems structure a fire hazard

B.                  Requests that LJCA send letter of support to try to expedite process by writing a letter to Mr. Covington

1.                   Concern that LJ already has a poor reputation with PWC based on past interaction

2.                   Discussion will remain open – consider impact on County relationships

VI.                Boat Ramp key increase

A.                  Linda Shaffer is concerned that Boat Ramp key was increased without proper notice of members

1.                   Notice was not provided to her because she does not receive newsletter

2.                   Motion to reopen discussion on boat ramp key – seconded (discussion opened)

3.                   Motion on voted motion is unnecessary because notice was given and vote passed at a previous meeting

4.                   Increased revenue and decreased spending is necessary to meet operating expenses and Board hopes to increase membership

5.                   Motion to revote – Did not pass

VII.               Garden Tour - Wine Tasting Event proposed by Geri Weis-Corbley – May 3

A.                  Need volunteers to run pontoon boats

B.                  Although money is low, would like to see some social events sponsored by LJCA

C.                  Event could be made a fundraiser as long as association does not purchase alcohol

 

D.                  Will be promoted through LJCA media (FB, email)
