There aren't many.

Lake Jackson has no restrictions on boat size, type or power.  Jet skis and water skiing are allowed.  Always try to stay to the right as you're going up and down the lake, although there are shallow areas that make this difficult in some areas.  Please be courteous - try to keep your wake down when you are around docks, shorelines, fishermen and smaller water craft.  Since we do have water skiers and swimmers in the lake, make sure to watch for people in the water.

Lake Jackson is a private lake, and use is restricted to residents and their guests.  To use any of the three boat ramps, you'll need to join the Citizens Association and buy a  ramp key.

Although we are a private lake, Virginia regulations on licensing, boating and fishing do apply, and Game Wardens have been known to drop by occasionally.  You can review the various regulations at the Virginia Department of Game & Inland Fisheries web site.   Make sure your boat is registered and has the required equipment.
You can get the required forms at the above web site.  If you're going to fish, you'll need a license if you're over 16. You can get a license at Walmart, most bait shops or online for a $2.00 processing fee.

Please respect our lake environment.  Don't throw trash in the lake and avoid spilling engine fluids (oil, gas, etc.) into the water.   Try to avoid using fertilizers and other gardening chemicals that can runoff into the lake.  In the fall, do not rake your leaves into the water.  It may be convenient, but the additional biomass can significantly damage the lake's ecosystem, especially when the lake freezes over during the winter.
